The Company Texas was founded in Odense, Denmark in 1960 by Andreas Petersen; the son of a farmer from the Southern part of Denmark.
As a young man Andreas Petersen visited the state of Texas in the USA. Here he became acquainted with the “Chain Saw”which he then introduced into Denmark and revolutionized the forestry industry – it was an instant success and this is the reason for the name of the Company –TEXAS.
The business diversified into mechanised digging products initially in 1964 by importing the English manufactured tiller called “Auto Culto” and by 1966 Texas was manufacturing their tillers in Denmark.
During the next 10 years, the company experienced enormous growth and started exporting 60% of their products to more than 25 countries. They have since maintained their position as market leaders in providing a total solution to gardening and farming enthusiasts.
The success of the Company has been directly related to the design capabilities of their R&D team, their close communication with their customers and their unrivalled ‘After Sales Support’.
Texas was a success story in the years that followed and they have strategically re-aligned their production to maintain competitive in a quickly changing global scenario. However, the Design and Development of all their machines has always been retained in Denmark.
In 2011, Texas started researching the Indian market and during the last 12 months they have focused their marketing efforts in the Northern Region of India. Their power weeders have been very well received by farmers.
