The Company Texas was founded in Odense, Denmark in 1960 by Andreas Petersen; the son of a farmer from the Southern part of Denmark.
As a young man Andreas Petersen visited the state of Texas in the USA. Here he became acquainted with the “Chain Saw”which he then introduced into Denmark and revolutionized the forestry industry – it was an instant success and this is the reason for the name of the Company –TEXAS.
The business diversified into mechanised digging products initially in 1964 by importing the English manufactured tiller called “Auto Culto” and by 1966 Texas was manufacturing their tillers in Denmark.
During the next 10 years, the company experienced enormous growth and started exporting 60% of their products to more than 25 countries. They have since maintained their position as market leaders in providing a total solution to gardening and farming enthusiasts.
The success of the Company has been directly related to the design capabilities of their R&D team, their close communication with their customers and their unrivalled ‘After Sales Support’.
Texas was a success story in the years that followed and they have strategically re-aligned their production to maintain competitive in a quickly changing global scenario. However, the Design and Development of all their machines has always been retained in Denmark.
In 2011, Texas started researching the Indian market and during the last 12 months they have focused their marketing efforts in the Northern Region of India. Their power weeders have been very well received by farmers.
Within a short period of time, Texas started establishing “Authorised Service Centres” across the Region. Texas went the extra mile and additionally introduced a “Mobile Service Centre” which now tours the region. This fully equipped mobile van contains a comprehensive range of spare parts; it has a generator and compressor as well as a motorcycle to access the remotest areas in the Region. The technical team that travels with the van organises service camps in advance the team then assists farmers by educating them in the proper use of the machines and provides service and repairs that may be required - on the spot.
Following the success of their launch in the Northern Region, Texas has decided to offer their products nationwide and opened a subsidiary Company in India by the name of Farm And Garden Technologies Pvt. Ltd (FARMTEK) on 18th October, 2012.
